Artist Statement


I have covered a wide and diverse range of media and styles in my first 15 years as a professional artist and designer.  The eclecticism of my work shares one common theme, the ennobling of the human spirit.

The galleries below are a small representation of my work. I am a challenge seeker and constantly push the envelope and range of a medium, such as my representational portraits in batik. As I stretch my own boundaries as an artist I actualize and come to terms with the simple and everyday, such as the KidsART2Canvas.

I have spent 10 of the past 15 years building a family. I am the proud mother of seven children -they are my greatest creative works and continue to bring daily inspiration and joy to my work. KidsArt2Canvas was inspired by the whimsy and joy spoken in their first marks on paper.  It is truly a passion and joy to paint their work and expand their vision.

The Licensed Art is my "night job". In that gallery you can view the various ways I have found to continue to fund my painting.  Licensing is a great way to maximize my time and explore various markets and manufacturers for my illustrations. I license my work to the manufacturers, and they use my illustrations on their product and sell to the commercial markets.  You can find links to purchase my work under the "Links" section at the left.
